NextRole is a Chrome extension that helps job seekers identify companies that have a UK sponsorship license by highlighting companies on various job boards. This privacy policy explains what information our extension collects, how we use it, and the choices you have regarding your data.

  • Extension ID: We collect your Chrome extension ID for authentication purposes with our server.

  • Website Information: The extension processes information from job listing pages you visit on supported job boards (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Totaljobs) to identify company names for matching against our database of UK sponsors.

Information You Provide:

  • Search Queries: When you use the search feature within the extension to find companies, your search queries are processed by our server. These queries include company names you enter in the search box.This data is not saved or attached to you.
  • Search Autocomplete Data: When you type in the search box, your partial input is used to provide autocomplete suggestions of company names.This data is not attached to you in current version (V0.1)
  • Feedback: If you choose to provide feedback through the “Report Bug or Suggest Feature” link, this information is collected through Google Forms.

How We Use Your Information

Search Functionality and Data Processing

  • We do not use your search queries for any purpose other than providing immediate search result

Autocomplete Feature:

  • As you type in the search box, your partial input is used to generate autocomplete suggestions
  • The autocomplete feature helps you find the correct company name spelling and format
  • These partial inputs are processed in real-time and are not stored permanently
  • Our improved algorithm now better handles partial matches
Similar Companies Display:
 
  • When an exact match isn’t found, we may display similar companies that could be relevant
  • This feature uses advanced matching algorithms to find companies with similar names
  • Information displayed includes company names, locations, and license tiers
  • All processing is done in accordance with the extension’s primary function

Data Storage

Local Storage:
 
The extension stores the following information in your browser’s local storage:
 
  • Count of companies in the database
  • Timestamp of the last database update
  • Temporary cache of company data for performance optimization
Server Storage:
 
  • Our server temporarily stores your extension ID and request information for authentication and rate limiting purposes
  • Search queries are processed in real-time and not permanently stored
  • We do not maintain user profiles or persistent user-specific data on our servers

Extension Permissions

NextRole requires the following permissions to function properly:
 
Storage: To store company data locally for faster performance and to remember your preferences
Alarms: To schedule periodic updates to our database of UK sponsors
Tabs: To detect when you navigate to a job board and apply highlighting functionality

Host Permissions:
 
We request access to specific job board websites (LinkedIn, Indeed, Glassdoor, Totaljobs) to:
 
  • Identify company names in job listings
  • Apply highlighting to companies with UK sponsorship licenses
  • Insert our search functionality to help you find specific companies
These permissions are the minimum required for the extension to function effectively. We do not access any website content beyond what is necessary for identifying and highlighting companies.

Manifest V3 Compliance

NextRole is built with Chrome’s Manifest V3 architecture. In accordance with Chrome Web Store requirements
 
  • No code is loaded from remote sources
  • We do not use the extension to collect data for unrelated purposes
  • All data collection is directly related to the functionality described on our Chrome Web Store page
  • We do not sell user data or share it with data brokers or information resellers

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your information to third parties. We may share anonymized, aggregated data for analytical purposes to improve our service.
